A Message from the President of the Board of Directors
I am privileged to serve as president of a board that is devoted to preserving our mission of affordability, culture of involvement, and the ability of our residents to age with dignity and vitality. Our board also recognizes that Marin's population of people over 65 continues to grow more rapidly than any other county in California and that active aging is a dominant issue of the day. "We have never yielded to the economic Today, an exciting modernization project is underway. Plans for the first phase involve modernizing and rehabilitating our 150 existing apartments, updating and expanding the kitchen and dining facilities, redesigning our entry and parking areas, further greening of our campus, and creating a wellness center for today's more active older adults to maximize their health and independence. The second stage of the project will include building forty or more much-needed new affordable housing units on the campus. The Board is proud of The Redwoods, its residents, staff and volunteers. With community support, we believe that we can preserve its culture of involved and active aging while we meet the challenge of providing quality affordable housing today and in the future. We encourage you to learn more by looking at our website and we invite you to participate in our promising future.
