Announces HUD Section 8 Waitlist Lottery Opening

All Waitlist Applications will be accepted in person or through the mail at MCCDC 441 Drake Avenue, Marin City, CA 94965

The Redwoods is accepting HUD Section 8 Waitlist Applications from Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 4:00pm from May 1, 2023 through May 31, 2023. As long as the Waitlist Application is submitted within the stated timeframe, the timing of the Waitlist Application submission will have no effect on inclusion in the lottery to be processed on the waitlist.

Deadline: Applications must be submitted in person by May 31, 2023 or postmarked by May 27, 2023.

Applications will be accepted from any qualifying individual(s). This Waitlist is for subsidized, one-bedroom rental units ONLY. Required qualifications are:

-- Applicant and co-applicant if any must each be 62 years or older
-- Households must be no larger than two (2) people
-- Current household income must be at or below the following amounts:

Family Size 1 person: $65,250

Family Size 2 people: $74,600

-- The Redwoods will impose the following preference for the Waitlist: Residents who already reside at The Redwoods but who currently do not hold a Section 8 certificate

To apply, pick up an application at Marin City Community Development Corp (MCCDC) 441 Drake Avenue, Marin City, CA 94965 or download the application by clicking Here. All Waitlist Applications will be accepted at MCCDC 441 Drake Avenue, Marin City, CA 94965. A lottery system will be used to select which applicants will be placed on the Waitlist. The maximum waitlist is 150 persons. Winning lottery results will be posted online to The Redwoods website (www.theredwoods.org) no later than one week after the lottery. Please remember that your Waitlist Application does not guarantee a spot on The Redwoods Waitlist.

MCCDC is prepared to assist applicants who may need assistance completing the Wait List Application form. This assistance may take the form of answering questions, helping applicants with literacy, vision or language issues and, in general, making it possible for interested parties to apply for assisted housing. Application accommodations for persons with disabilities will be provided upon request.
